When you begin the final phase of your credential program, Credential Services will assist you through the California credential application process.
Deadlines to apply
- Fall Finishers - December 31st* (Please use the Fall 2013 form)
- Spring Finishers - May 31st
* A $10 late fee will be assessed if file is not complete by end of semester (5/31 - Spring; 12/31 - Fall)
Credential Request for Recommendation to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
Credential Services is the liaison between CSU, Chico credential candidates (you) and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Credential Services assists you with the final step in obtaining a California Credential. Credential Services will be recommending you for a credential to CTC. You must complete the Credential Request for Recommendation. The details on this process can be found by clicking below.
Certificate of Clearance / Live Scan
The Certificate of Clearance is for individuals seeking clearance for entry into a public school setting (observation, field experience, or student teaching). The Certificate of Clearance is verification that you have completed the Commission on Teacher Credentialing fingerprint process (also called Live Scan). You will need to pay for your fingerprints to be processed by the police department AND you will pay CTC for the Certificate of Clearance.
