Ms. Hill-Ward teaches and supervises resident teachers and in the Rural Teacher Residency Program and teacher candidates in the Education Specialist, Multiple and Single Subject Credential Programs. She received her master’s in Education at California State University, Chico after completing credential requirements for the Multiple Subject and Special Education Credentials with Learning Handicapped, Severely Handicapped and Resource Specialist authorizations. She has taught students from preschool through high school in the public school system in Canada and California, including adjudicated students in alternative settings.

Teaching about students with exceptional needs through collaboration between general education and special education teachers is an interest of Hill-Ward’s. In addition, she has been part of a team at CSU, Chico that seeks to advance the use of service-learning as a pedagogy to increase positive engagement and learning for both general and special education students in public schools.
