Bill Rich, EdD
Dr. Rich supervises and teaches candidates who are aspiring teachers and school leaders at all levels, K-14. He earned the EdD from the University of Southern California in 2000 before joining the faculty at CSU, Chico in 2001. He has served in public schools as teacher, rural teaching-principal, vice principal, principal, director of personnel, assistant superintendent and interim superintendent.
Rich’s professional interests include leadership, democracy in education, accountability and policy re-design. He contributes to international education by holding seminars for teachers and principals from countries throughout the world in order to support education for democracy. He is currently writing for publication of interdisciplinary research on correctional education with a team from the Sociology Department. Additionally, he is writing about the development of Guided Democratic Inquiry, a process he designed with school partners for districts to address their most difficult issues.
