Math and Science Teacher Scholarships Available - A collaboration between the Department of Education, the Center for Math and Science Education, and the Teacher Recruitment Program (TRP), called the Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) at California State University, Chico is focused on recruiting students to become math and science teachers. Applications for the Teacher Recruitment Project (TRP) and Noyce Scholarships for future Math/Science teachers are now available. Awards up to $10,000.00 are possible. Assumption Program of Loans for Education (APLE) for CSU Students - The Assumption Program of Loans for Education (APLE) is a teacher incentive program designed to encourage students to become California teachers in a range of critical teacher shortage areas and in several types of high need schools. Administered by the California Student Aid Commission, the program assumes up to $19,000 in outstanding educational loan balances in return for four consecutive years of qualifying teaching service.
