Assignments & Grading 525 points
12 daily Lab assignments (20 points each, 2 lowest Lab grades dropped) (200 points total)
3 original assignments on: word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software (40 pts. Each)
2 Midterm Exams covering lecture & texts (40 points each)
5 Skill Tests on the computer (25 points each)
Policy on late work: Most assignments will be due when class begins, unless otherwise specified. Printing will not be allowed at the beginning of class, which is lecture time. Assignments turned in after class begins, will be considered one day late. Assignments turned in late will be penalized 10% per week. Lab assignments will be accepted no later than 1 week, HW assignments no later than 2 weeks. See the instructor in the case of serious and compelling reasons (serious illness, etc.). The 2 lowest Lab Assignment grades will be dropped, giving you a cushion for illness, emergency or "a bad week." (Low Skill Test Grades will not be dropped.) Makeup exams will only be allowed with a note from a physician and notice to the instructor prior to begin-ning of the exam. Remember that your final grade will be determined by your grades on assignments & tests.
Attendance: While attendance will not be taken, missing class will usually greatly impact on your grade, because students who miss class very often do not complete their assignments. Excessive absences make it extremely difficult for the student to catch up with the class once they have gotten behind.
