Transcript Ordering – Frequently Asked Questions

                                         Transcript processing December 14 - January 17

The Office of the Registrar will be closed Monday, December 26, 2016 through Monday, January 2, 2017.  No transcript orders will be processed during the closure.  Current and recent students may access Unofficial Transcripts through the Portal

Need a transcript in December?  Order by the deadline below and your transcript will be ready no later than 2 PM on Thursday, December 22nd.

  • Wednesday, December 14 for Regular Processing.  All orders after this date must be Rush Processing to be ready by December 22nd.
  • Tuesday, December 20 for Rush Processing

Need a transcript in January?  See options below.  Orders received on or after Tuesday, December 20 will be reviewed beginning Tuesday, January 3.

  • Enrolled in fall 2016?  While grades are being processed, Official Transcripts will be unavailable.  Order online and processing will begin Tuesday, January 17, 2017, and will include fall 2016 grades.  Unofficial transcripts can be ordered in our lobby and accessed in the Portal.  A letter regarding closure is available upon request.
  • Not enrolled in fall 2016?  Order online and processing will begin Tuesday, January 3.

Closure days and weekends are not included in transcript processing business days.  Our office is closed on:

  • Monday, December 26 – Friday, December 30 (Winter Break)
  • Monday, January 2 (New Year’s Day)
  • Monday, January 16 (Martin Luther King, Jr’s Birthday)

CSU, Chico's online ordering process is provided through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), a non-profit organization serving the higher education community.  More information on NSC is available at

If you wish to pay with check or money order

Mail a completed Official Transcript Request Form to CSU, Chico.  This completed form may also be delivered to our office: SSC 110.

*Portal accounts are only available for students enrolled after Summer 2004

Unofficial Transcript Requests

If you attended CSU, Chico in any term after Summer 2004, you may use the Portal to retrieve academic information.  Unofficial Transcript Requests are also available in the lobby of the Office of the Registrar as an on-campus service. 

  • A picture I.D. is required and requests must be ordered and picked up in person.  
  • Typically requests can be processed while you wait. 
  • There is a $2.00 fee for each transcript. 
  • Unofficial transcripts not picked up within 30 days from the date of scheduled pickup will be destroyed.  No refund will be provided.
