Student Records & Registration

Step 3: Review Your Record for Holds or Other Registration Requirements

Enrollment during Continuing Registration and Add/Drop occur primarily in the Student Center through the Portal. Use the Student Center to determine your registration dates, financial aid information, current addresses, current schedule, financial account summary, grades, advising information, and other personal information. The Student Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A hold may prevent you from enrolling. Check your Student Center via the Portal for any holds regularly in the weeks prior to your registration time period to review and resolve any hold that may impact your ability to register. Review the details of all holds and follow the instructions for each hold. Contact the office that placed your hold for additional information. A registration hold may be placed after you have successfully registered. If not cleared, you will not be eligible for future registration. Common registration holds include but are not limited to:

  • financial debts to CSU, Chico

  • missing documents required by Admissions, Office of the Registrar or other offices on campus

  • advising requirements by your department or other offices on campus

  • failure to complete required training programs, e.g., Title IX training programs

Test results or additional information may be required prior to registration. Please see "Mathematics / Quantitative Reasoning and Writing Requirements" in the University Catalog for complete information.
