About Us


Student Support Services (SSS) is a $248,063, federally funded TRIO program through the US Department of Education in Washington, DC.

The Student Support Services program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and motivates students to successfully complete their postsecondary education. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.

SSS is committed to providing support and services to students until they graduate from Chico State. All programs and services are free of charge to students who are eligible.

Students enrolled in SSS can get:

  • Help in tracking their academic progress.
  • Assistance in completing financial aid and other important forms.
  • Free access to a number of social and cultural events scheduled and facilitated by SSS throughout the year.

How do I qualify?

To be eligible for TRiO Student Support Services at CSU, Chico, students must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident, intend to enroll at CSU, Chico or be a current student and meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
  • Meet low-income requirements.
  • Be a first-generation college student.
  • Have a documented disability.
  • Intend to enroll at CSU, Chico or be a current CSU, Chico student. Apply now.
