SSS Leadership Council (LC)


The purpose of this leadership organization shall be to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement in undergraduate students enrolled at California State University, Chico and in the Student Support Services (SSS), and to provide opportunities and resources to members to facilitate a more enriching and enjoyable undergraduate experience at CSU, Chico. These commitments shall be realized through regular meetings, academic workshops, and social gatherings.

SSS Honors Cabinet

Invitation to this cabinet is exlusive to upper classmen who have earned at least a 3.30 GPA (in at least 12 units). The SSS/EOP Honors Cabinet is a cabinet that was established for the purpose of recognizing and encouraging scholastic success in students who are a part of SSS or EOP (Educational Opportunity Program) at CSU, Chico. Furthermore, this cabinet was created in the hopes of providing opportunities that can facilitate a more enriching and enjoyable college experience for its members. It challenges its member to strive to maintain and promote high standards of scholastic achievement, serve as leaders among their peers, and continue to be seekers of knowledge. Some of the events that the Cabinet may hold include academic workshops (such as interviews, resume), a graduate school panel, graduation ceremonies, mentoring, etc. There is $5 fee in addition to their application to be a part of the Cabinet.

Fundraising & Event Planning

This committee is open to all participating SSS members. A leadership opportunity is also available for those who are interested in holding a chairman position. This committee is responsible for planning and facilitating fundraising and community services events for SSSLC.

Public Relations

Open to all SSS members who have the desire to expand their public relations skills. This great opportunity involves students in marketing aspects such as making flyers, advertisments and publicity for the SSSLC. Members in this committee are responsible for keeping updated with major campus events and opportunities so as to enable SSSLC to serve the campus community as well.
