With assistance from BloodSource-North Valley, Staff Council has sponsored monthly blood drives on campus since 1970. This service project supports our local community and local hospitals in Chico, Paradise, Biggs-Gridley, Colusa, Yuba City, Willows, and Oroville.
Your donations help local patients like Paul Wright, a 25 year-old man from Princeton, who is a three-time cancer survivor. Because of BloodSource blood donors, Paul was able to receive life-saving transfusions during his treatment and is again attending CSU, Chico to finish his degree. Your donations have also helped patients like Chloe Brandow who survived a life-threatening ski accident. Because of BloodSource blood donors, Chloe is a sophomore at CSU, Chico studying to be a doctor.
Educational materials regarding blood and bone marrow donations are present at each blood drive. Staff Council annually accepts, on behalf of the University, BloodSource achievement awards for this life-giving service.
