To_Home_Page Portfolio Show

The Portfolio Show needs support from members during spring (and fall ?) semesters.

  • Location. (Will food and beverage be served?)
  • Event Date. (How far ahead will we need to plan.)
  • Judges. (Select individuals for other departments to make it fair and also encourage interest in the program outside of the English Department. This encourages the department to support the technical writing students before the walk out on them to another department.)
  • Awards. (Just how many awards should be given out. How many is too many? Or not enough?)
  • Talent Scouts (Recruiters).

Solicit funds from recruiters for presentations to the Society. In return, offer a packet of student resumes and portfolios.

One local professional society is using this technique according to Rick Rees, Student Activities Associate Director. He says the student group is using this idea and charging $300.00 to the recruiters.
