Part 2-Site Design
How to Design Your Site
Planning your site structure leads into page design. Page design includes your content, your method of site navigation, and special features of your Web site.
Your page design will benefit from a consistent, well-organized, and reader-oriented style. It sets the tone that identifies you and your Web site. Create sample pages, or "comps" that identify your page layout, your fonts, and your site navigation elements.
Dreamweaver 4.0 has a Layout view that makes designing and redesigning your page layout easy. The Draw HTML Tables tool lets you layout the page areas before you add content.
For example, with the Tables tool, you can layout a page area, then insert a Table Cell Area into it, and insert an image into that Table Cell Area.

The Layout Tool lets you lay out the content areas, add content, and then easily move or resize your site's content areas later.

The Dreamweaver 4.0 Objects Panel lets you create different types of Web pages. Design pages with frames, design forms, tables, or layers.
If you know how to use HTML code, you can design your site pages Dreamweaver 4.0 's text editor. You can customize the way the text editor sets line wrapping or displays line numbering. The code editor permits live syntax coloring and you can check your code as you type.
Dreamweaver 4.0's Roundtrip HTML imports HTML code without reformatting the code. Dreamweaver 4.0 gives you complete control over HTML documents and lets you set options for cleaning up the original code.
