  1. Be prepared with your social security number and your campus ID card number. This is the 16-digit number on your ID card that begins with 00011.
  2. The new page will describe what services will be enabled with your account initialization.
  3. Your email account will be ready to use in approximately two hours.

When you are done, you should have written down your new WildcatMail user ID, memorized your password, and read the acceptable use policy.

Initialize your Wildcat/Portal account

You can use your Wildcat/Portal account from any of the campus open access computer labs. If you have a computer at home, you can set it up to access your email and the Internet by dialing in to the CSU, Chico Premium Modem Service. Download instructions on how to set up remote access or ask for a printed copy at the Meriam Library 116 computer lab help desk.
