E-mail client configuration


How to get a WildcatMail account

  1. A WildcatMail account is created for you when you initialize your Portal account.
  2. The email address for your WildcatMail account is:
    portal_username@mail.csuchico.edu, where portal_username is the username you use to login to the portal.

Checking your WildcatMail

  1. From any web browser, go to the WildcatMail Web Client.
  2. Use your portal username and password to login.

Using a standalone email client such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird

  • For instructions on how to configure one of our supported clients to check your WildcatMail, see our Client Configuration Instructions.
  • The WildcatMail system is compatible with any email program that uses IMAP. (POP and POP3 are not supported by WildcatMail).

Changing your password or forwarding your email

  • To change your password, use our WildcatMail and Portal password reset page. Remember that becuase your WildcatMail and portal passwords are the same, you will also be changing your portal password when you change your WildcatMail password.
