The following documents show you how to set up your off-campus computer to enable dial-up access to the Internet and your WildcatMail account using campus modems. You must have already initialized your Portal account. These documents support both the Free Modem Service and the Premium Modem Service. Choose the setup guide appropriate for the operating system of your computer.

Please note that these documents are in PDF format which requires that your web browser have the Adobe Acrobat plug-in installed. You may download this free plug-in from Adobe Systems. The documents are large files and will take about 20 minutes to download over a 28.8k modem connection (and may longer depending on network congestion). Printed copies of the documents are availible at the MLIB 116 help desk if you are unable to view or download them.

Users of Windows 95, NT, 98, or ME should know that those operating systems are no longer supported by Student Computing. Users of those operating systems should upgrade to Windows XP. Users of MacOS 9.x or 8.x should upgrade to MacOS X 10.2 or better.
