Structural Response Database

This page includes documentation of the structural responses for the 30 RC SMF buildings use in this research. These structural responses are predicted using nonlinear dynamic analyses at various levels of ground motion intensity (i.e. incremental dynamic analyses).

This documentation is provided so that others can use the structural responses for their research as well (e.g. for creating building fragilities, etc.). 

The sets of structural designs contained on this page include:

The reinforced concrete (RC) special moment frame (SMF) set of buildings comes from the following two references.

The structural response data are provided in the following table. These files provide full documentation of the following structural response data:

  • Results of nonlinear static pushover analyses (under ASCE7-02 lateral load distribution).
  • Collapse capacity data:

- Collapse capacity in terms of Sa(T1) - Full collapse distribution, median, and logarithmic standard deviation.
- Collapse drifts (interstory drifts and roof drifts) - Full collapse distribution, median, and logarithmic standard deviation.

  • Pre-collapse response data (full distribution, median, and logarithmic standard deviations):

- Peak interstory drifts (each story)
- Residual interstory drifts (each story)
- Peak floor acceleration (each floor)
- Peak plastic rotation demands (each element)
