More than 2,000 students provide over 60,000 hours of community service through Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) each year. CAVE’s student-led programs serve children, senior citizens, animal shelters, Downtown Chico, the environment, and much more.

Campus Values

At Chico State, we value a commitment to service, to academic inquiry and discovery, and to being an active and positive presence in our community. We share a powerful connection between the campus, the community, the region, and our alumni. Small wonder that many who graduate have a hard time leaving, and after they’ve gone, long to find a way back to Chico—where people are genuine, life is simpler, and opportunities abound.
