Planning to Apply

Thank you for expressing an interest in studying with us at California State University, Chico.

There are three main steps in the application process for exchange students:

  1. The first step in coming to CSU, Chico is to make sure your University is one of our Exchange Partners.  If your university is not on this list, you will need to work directly with our International Admissions office. 
  2. Once have confirmed that your University is our Exchange Partner, you must receive permission from your home University's international programs office to participate in the exchange.
  3. After your University has selected you as a participant in the exchange, you will be ready to apply to CSU, Chico. The Application Forms and Procedures are available here. 

Application Deadlines:


Fall (August – December) Semester – April 1st

Spring (January – May) Semester – October 1st


The academic year at CSU, Chico begins in late August and concludes in late May.
