Jacob Edington

Study Abroad & Exchange Advisor

Jacob Edington holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in History, Social Science and Secondary Education, and recently completed his Master of Arts in Education from Heidelberg University in Ohio. As an undergrad, Jacob studied abroad at Harlaxton College, a Manor home turned study abroad site, in Lincolnshire, UK. Following his graduation from WKU, Jacob returned to Harlaxton as a Student Development Intern, helping to facilitate student activities and assisting in program administration for students studying abroad.  Jacob also served as the Interim Assistant Dean of Students at Harlaxton prior to his return to the United States.  During his master’s program at Heidelberg University, Jacob worked as a residential coordinator as well as a graduate assistant in the International Affairs Office, advising both outbound study abroad students and international students studying on F and J visas as a DSO and ARO. Jacob additionally has experience teaching at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Linköping, Sweden.

Jacob’s experiences working, studying, and teaching overseas allows him to reflect on his experiences, and accurately help our students throughout the study abroad experience.  His favorite part about working in the Study Abroad Office is the opportunity to witness the growth and confidence each student develops during their international experience.  Jacob joined our office in spring 2018 after a move from Nashville, and he looks forward to discovering all that California has to offer!  When not in the office, Jacob loves hiking and watching Premier League Football (soccer).
