Diversion Excursion
9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Diversion Excursion (DE) is the annual residence hall move-out program on campus. This joint program, coordinated between the University Housing and Food Service (UHFS) Grounds Department and the AS Recycling Program, is designed to divert reusable and recyclable goods from the trash at the end of each school year. Volunteer-staffed tables are located outside on-campus residence halls and at University Village, the off-campus complex (located one mile from the main campus). Volunteers are recruited by DE interns to staff the tables during this two-day event. Each year, over 15,000 lbs of material is diverted from the landfill and thousands of students are educated about the importance of recycling, reuse, and waste diversion. For more info, contact Luisa Garza at 898-4039 or Robyn DiFalco at 898-6677.

Drop & Dash
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Each year, at the end of the spring semester, a large amount of furniture, household items and trash is illegally dumped on private and public land. To reduce the amount of illegally dumped material that goes to the landfill and to increase charitable donations, the City of Chico will be holding two community collection days called "Drop & Dash; Divert, Don't Trash." This is your chance to help our community by turning your trash into another persons treasureand to keep the community clean. For more information:
