Dr. Schuldberg's current work includes MSW curriculum and program development through distributed educational programming.  This work includes the infusion of course content on advanced practice mental health and gerontology competencies within the graduate curriculum. Dr. Schuldberg is committed to increasing the number of social workers trained in gerontology and the mental health recovery model to meet the needs of the growing population older adults in the United States and address self-determination and collaboration in mental health treatment.

Dr. Schuldberg’s research interests include: immigrants and refugees; multiculturalism and the teaching of cultural competency in social work education; adult services and aging issues; mental health; transnational social work; genocide and reconciliation; and distributive education to provide access for those who are currently in the work force and/or reside in rural and remote regions.
