Valerie Peck joined the School of Social Work as the IV-E Project Coordinator in March 2002. In addition, she teaches a unit of field in the MSW program.  

For fifteen years prior to coming to CSU, Chico, Valerie was an intake manager and clinician for Butte County Office of Education, where she ran an intensive school-based day treatment program serving seriously emotionally ill students in the special education setting. It was an enriching experience that enabled her to work individually, in group settings, and with families, and to collaborate with numerous agencies to better serve the students.

Valerie's clinical experience includes work as a medical social worker, shelter director for a battered women's shelter, work in residential treatment, consultant, and private practice.

Valerie loves to swim and is part of the Masters Swim Program. She loves to work on her home and walk in Bidwell park.
