Dr. KuiHee Song joined the School of Social Work in 2000. She has taught human behavior and the social environments, cultural diversity, child welfare, social work practice, and social work research and program evaluation for both BSW and MSW programs. Her teaching and research interests are primarily in the area of multicultural social work practice and programs with marginalized family and children, and local and global communities.

Dr. Song’s BSW and MSW teaching experience include lectureships at the University of Texas-Pan America and at several universities in Seoul, South Korea. Her professional experience includes social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and organizations, as well as global social work communities in both the United States and South Korea.       

Dr. Song has been involved in numerous multicultural and global social justice activities related to her teaching, scholarship, and services. Dr. Song is an active member of the International Social Work Association and chair of the Multicultural Community Collaboration Committee. She has been also working to establish a partnership between the School of Social Work and local and international community-based organizations that target underserved and culturally diverse groups of people in the region.

In addition, Dr. Song is writing a book titled Multicultural and International Approaches in Social Work Practice: An Integrative Perspective.
