Patty Hunter joined the faculty as Director
of Field Education in August of 2001. Prior to assuming
this position she had been a member of the adjunct faculty
in the School of Social Work for eight years. She has taught
undergraduate practice courses, as well as the field practicum
courses. She currently teaches the Supervision and Administration
course in the MSW program. She also taught field practicum
courses for CSU, Sacramento and CSU, Long Beach. Patty
thoroughly enjoys the collaborative process required between
agencies and the school to provide quality field education
experiences for students.
Patty's clinical experience includes ten years practice in
the school social work field and seven years working in a
variety of rural community mental health settings. She
also maintained a private practice for twelve years.
Her clinical practice has been in the areas of physical and
sexual abuse, depression, post-traumatic stress, grief and
loss, and eating disorders. Patty worked with adults,
families and children, and particularly enjoyed working with
at risk teens. She continues to provide clinical supervision.
