AS Women's Center
The Women’s Center is a nonprofit, student-run, politically active organization on campus. We put on four events in the spring semester: Vagina Monologues, Breaking the Silence, the Annual Women’s Center Conference, and the Maggie Awards. Interns will be directly involved with the planning of these events. In addition to planning events, interns attend a weekly Women’s Center intern/staff meeting and work in the Women’s Center office. Students will also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with people who come into the Women’s Center in crisis. The Women’s Center listens to the problem/crisis and then provides information, referrals and resources appropriate for that situation. The Women’s Center also has a strong connection and often works collaboratively with other student and community organizations. Interested students are encouraged to come down to the Women’s Center (BMU 002) and talk to staff and other interns.
