The Distributed Learning MSW Three-Year Program 3-Year Sequence of Courses (2015-2018) provides the same curriculum as the Two-Year Program. This program admits students once every three years with the next cohort of students beginning fall 2018 (application process will open Fall 2017). As in the Two-Year Program, this program requires a total of 59-61 units** of course work and 1200 hours of field education practicum experience. (**depending on program plan)

Students enrolled in the Social Work programs (BASW/MSW) at California State University, Chico are offered the opportunity of completing their field practicum in the following counties:

  • Lake
  • Lassen
  • Mendocino
  • Modoc
  • Nevada
  • Plumas
  • Shasta
  • Sierra
  • Siskiyou
  • Sutter
  • Trinity
  • Tehama
  • Yuba

If you would like to request a field placement outside of the counties listed above you must complete a formal request with the Field Education Director. This must be done before accepting the offer of admission to CSU, Chico School of Social Work.  Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis by the Field Education Director.  There is no guarantee that a field placement will be made outside of the above counties.  Please be advised on this when enrolling in the Social Work Program at CSU, Chico.
