What is Distributed Learning?
Distributed learning is a general term used to describe a multi-media method of instructional delivery that includes a mix of Web-based instruction, face-to-face classroom time and online collaborate sessions with instructors and classmates.
Is Distributed Learning for me?
- Programs follow the same curriculum as traditional programs.
- 16 week semesters
- Engage with professors and fellow students through live webcasts, chats, individual and small group discussions, virtual role plays and shared projects.
- Visits to Chico State Campus two weekends a semester to build and practice your skills and experience the onsite academic community.
- Field placements in or near your home community.
- You will need high-speed Internet access, a web cam, a headset/microphone and a computer with a minimum of 1 GB RAM and processor speeds of Windows: 2 GHZ or higher/Macintosh: G2 or higher.
While Distance Learning opens up educational opportunities, it requires good time management skills and works well for those who are self-directed learners. We encourage you think about yourself as a learner to see if this program meets your needs. To assist with your exploration, please check out the following website as well as others you may find.
