Senior Social Work Homepage

teacher with students Do social workers do more than casework....case management....or counseling?   YES!

Read on about social work students getting involved in their communities -- what they learn and the difference it can make.

This web site was created to educate people on the kinds of community interventions that social work students choose to engage in at the BSW level in rural Northern California. Some of these projects were developed in collaboration with the agencies where students do their senior internships, while others grew out of a student's personal interests. As you will read, projects were designed and carried out in some cases by a group of students, while others were initiated and implemented by an individual. Regardless of the approach or topic, each project responded to an unmet need in the community, as expressed by both professionals and consumers/clients.

Our purpose in creating a web site was to acknowledge the diverse efforts that BSW students make in responding to consumers/clients, as they together work to strengthen communities and the social welfare system. We invite you to share your responses to the projects undertaken by the students whose projects are listed below. Any comments or questions please contact any of us -- Patty Hunter at phunter@csuchico.edu and Jean Schuldberg, jschuldberg@csuchico.edu. Thank you for browsing our web page.
