This program allows students, faculty and staff who are 18 and older to share new cars for as low as $8 an hour. The cost includes gas, insurance, cleaning, and maintenance. There are two new cars conveniently located on campus available for personal use 24 / 7. One is located in the Student Health Center Parking Lot and the other in the Hazel Street Lot across from the BMU.
The car sharing program is very convenient and inexpensive when compared to owning your own vehicle and each shared car takes 15-20 personally-owned vehicles off the road. This is a great money-saving program for those who only need a car once in awhile. Eligible users can join on line for just $35 per year at www.zipcar.com/chicostate/.
