Mission Statement

Testing & Research supports the University’s and the Division of Student Affairs’ efforts to attract, select, retain, and graduate a diverse population of students. T & R supports

recruitment by administering, scoring, and interpreting admission tests on campus for potential students so they may see the unique environment Chico has to offer
retention by administering, scoring, and interpreting course placement tests to aid course selection and increase the likelihood of academic success
retention by classroom test scoring to aid faculty in test development and prompt feedback to students
graduation by testing for competency, licensure, credentials, and post-graduate study.

All administrations are in a distraction free, standardized, secure, and unbiased environment using current technology and high standards for staff performance. T & R provides courteous service and accessible, current, accurate, and comprehensive information about testing programs; consultation services to the campus community on testing, measurement, and assessment; and confidential Student Evaluation of Teaching processing, accurate output, and timely delivery of students’ feedback to faculty and to the faculty personnel process.
