Professor Holbrook teaches all of the Costume and Stage Makeup classes, the One Acts Production Seminar, Gender and the Stage, and occasionally Children's Literature in Performance and Beginning Acting.

Her production activities include directing one show a year and designing costumes for one or two shows a year in the main season, supervising student designers in both costume and makeup, supervising student directors, and participating as needed in Court Theatre where she served as the Artistic Director and Manager from 1996-2001. Other department activities include serving as an Academic Advisor for Theatre majors, advisor for Alpha Psi Omega Honors Fraternity, department coordinator and regional adjudicator for American College Theatre Festival, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, and serving on various Personnel and Curriculum-related committees for the department and college.

Gail received her Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and her Master's degree from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. She has been a theatre professor since age 25 and has designed well over 100 shows and directed about 50. Favorite projects in recent years include directing The Laramie Project, Mr. Bundy, Sylvia, The Crucible, and Quilters and designing costumes for The Bartered Bride, The New Moon, and The Pajama Game.

Her spare time is spent riding and training her horse "Buffalo Girl", hiking with her dog “Bailey”, quilting, traveling, eating gourmet food, and collecting (and tasting!) California wine.
