Bb Collaborate

Online meeting, teaching, and sharing software is here!

All Chico State faculty have access to the new Blackboard Collaborate software to communicate with students, guests or colleagues in real time using video, audio and/or text chat. Collaborate enables a moderator and participants to share slides and documents, conduct polls and tour web sites and share desktops. Sessions can be recorded for later playback. Moderators can also create breakout rooms for small groups.

Web conferencing on the go

Participants can soon use the Collaborate Mobile app for iPhone and iPad to join a session from email link, calendar invite, or Blackboard Learn. Then, communicate with two-way audio and text chat. Watch a demo. (Mobile Collaborate functionality to be delivered in early spring)

Virtual Office Hours

Students can meet the professor without the hassle of traveling to campus.

Online Lectures

Instructors can deliver a lecture live to online students or record it for students who will view it later.

Remote Guest Speakers

Content experts from the field can present live to a mediated classroom from anywhere in the world with Internet access.

Group Conferencing

Meet with colleagues in person in a mediated space such as the library's MLIB 27A while colleagues at a distance join you online in Collaborate.

Advising and Tutoring

Invite students or even non-students to join you 1:1 online and share what they're working on.

Podcasting

Pre-record a lecture and make it available to students in Bb Learn or as an MP3/MP4 file.
