The Wildcat baseball team, twice the NCAA Division II champions, is a cornerstone of Chico State's athletic pride. Chico offers 12 intercollegiate athletic programs in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, a scholarship conference.

The CSU, Chico campus is right next to downtown Chico, where students meet and browse in the local shops.

Glass design is one of several studio arts offered at CSU, Chico. The art department also offers courses in ceramics, computer-based art, printmaking, and sculpture, among others.

A residential campus, CSU, Chico offers a variety of living environments, housing 1,222 students in on-campus residence halls and 485 students in university-owned off-campus apartments.
