Online Training for Employees

In general, anyone who reasonably suspects child abuse during their work must report abuse that occurs on our campus, or at any official activity or program we conduct.  The EDU: Mandated Reporter CANRA e-course identifies how to recognize child abuse, detect child predators, and report suspected abuse. 

This course is strongly encouraged for all CSU, Chico employees.  Further information regarding Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect is available on the campus HRSC EODR website.

Training Details

Title: EDU: Mandated Reporter
Who?

All CSU employees are strongly encouraged to complete this training to help you understand your mandated reporting* obligations. If it is required in the future, the Development and Training System will display your training completion.

What? This course communicates requirements of CSU employees as defined by state law and CSU policy. The course identifies how to recognize child abuse, detect child predators, and report suspected abuse.
Why? As a CSU employee, you are required under California's Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), as well as CSU Executive Order 1083, to report child abuse you reasonably suspect while performing your job duties. In general, anyone who reasonably suspects child abuse during their work for this organization must report abuse that occurs on our campus, or at any official activity or program we conduct.
Length? Approximately 30 minutes
Frequency: To be determined.
Note: *This training does not address the requirements of those who are mandatory reporters due to their profession (e.g., counselors and police officers).

Quick Guide to Online Training

  1. PC users: use Internet Explorer for this training.
  2. Before launching online courses in the DTS, please enable pop-ups for csuchico.learnerhall.com. Browser specific instructions can be found here.
  3. Click the Course Catalog tab in the top (black) menu.
  4. Click the Regulatory/Compliance Courses folder to expand the folder and view the course list.
  5. Click Launch or Retake next to the title (EDU: Mandated Reporter).  Review Knowlege Base article Navigating the Development & Training System for more information.
    • Exit the training before exiting your browser to save your progress and completion.
