EDU: FERPA & Protecting Education is available for employees to complete.  This course provides information about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), what constitutes an education record, and our duty to maintain the confidentiality of education records.

Training Details

Title: EDU: FERPA
Who? All CSU employees are encouraged to complete this training to help you understand your FERPA obligations. If it is required in the future, the Development and Training System will display your training completion.
What? This course provides information about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), what constitutes an education record, and a school’s duty to maintain the confidentiality of education records.
Why? As a CSU employee, you are required under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), enacted in 1974, to protect the privacy of student education records and ensure students have a rights of access to their own education records. It is important that CSU employee understand what student information they may access and with who they may share information.
Length? Approximately 30 minutes
Frequency: To be determined.
