HIPAA is a federal law that establishes the rules for managing medical information throughout the United States. Employees that may come into contact with records covered by HIPAA are required to undergo training on how to handle those records.

Who? Employees who may come into contact with the medical information of others.
What? Identify legal, ethical, security and privacy requirements in order to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Why? To ensure the privacy and confidentiality of medical information, Congress enacted the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). Frequency: Annual
