More Information

Heartsaver CPR AED (HSCPRAED) covers American Heart Association (AHA) CPR for the infant, child and adult patient - with practice using a barrier device. Methods for clearing a foreign body airway obstruction in infants, children and adults are reviewed as well as training on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).  A perfect class for laypersons, security personnel, fitness instructors, teachers, coaches and childcare providers.

Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.  As the cost will be covered by the USDP, commitment to attend the entire session, by those who enroll, is necessary to ensure each session is full.  The training is 3.0 hours in length and if the participant passes the required assessment verifying they have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to perform CPR and use an AED they will obtain CPR certification upon completion.

Note:  Heartsaver CPR AED is designated for the layperson or non-healthcare provider (i.e. teachers, coaches, childcare providers, etc.).  This class is meant to give the bystander of a cardiac emergency the skills to recognize and properly perform CPR if needed to save someone’s life.

Instructor: First Responder EMS

Audience: Staff, faculty and managers who are interested in learning CPR and how to use an AED.
