Who I am

I grew up in the east Bay Area. For the last ten years I have called Chico home. Chico is where I received my college education and degree (B.A. in English with a minor in environmental studies and a teaching credential), met my husband, and began my career in education. For the last four years I have been teaching high school English at Paradise High School.

What my interests are

In my spare time I enjoy being active in the outdoors. I enjoy long-distance running, sprint-distance triathlons, and hiking and backpacking in the mountains. I also am a voracious reader; my favorite authors include John Steinbeck and Barbara Kingsolver. If I'm not running or reading, I enjoy traveling and hanging out with family and friends.

Having a college education has provided me with immeasurable opportunities. The rewards of education are so valuable; they are rewards I want all of my students to experience.
