Transportation Committee Meeting

Present: Leslie Deniz, (University Police), Mike Bates (FMS), Joel Trenolone, Tatiana Ahlstrand (Facilities Planning), Dick Chamberlain (Financial Services), Stephanie Yule (Risk Management)

 

Committee Member’s Death: Chief Deniz announced the sudden death of committee member, Frankie Hockstaff, Parking Officer. She suffered a heart attack on Saturday, March 4. Her friends have arranged a Celebration of Life in her memory to be held on Saturday, March 25, at 2:00 pm in PAC 144. More details will come out in campus announcements.

 

Meeting with City of Chico: Chief Deniz reported she, as well as Dennis Graham, Greg Francis, and Glennda Morse, met with the City of Chico consultants regarding the Downtown Access Plan. The consultants acknowledged the problems identified by both CSUC and the City of Chico, which include:

  • 2nd & Normal Streets
  • Bike lanes
  • Roadway construction
  • Traffic flow down 2nd Street
  • Buses
  • Parking structures

They are at the stage of sharing ideas at this time and they are open to all of the concerns voiced by CSUC.

 

Information will continue to be shared with the committee as talks progress.

 

Student Health Center’s request for bike lockers:  Glennda Morse is following up on this item. Unable to attend meeting today. Item tabled for now.

 

Enterprise Rideshare Program: Chief Deniz reported Human Resources is pulling together the data requested by Enterprise Rideshare, so they can determine if their program is viable for our employees. The information being compiled is street addresses only (without house numbers). Discussion regarding the program, as presented at previous meetings, took place, as well as discussion about alternative transportation choices in Chico.
