KAKU Inc. Parking Consultant Report - Leslie Deniz The KAKU Parking Consultant report was completed and discussed with department heads earlier today. In summation, there are high costs involved with tackling the parking issues that are present on our campus. The proposal, for multiple parking structures, says that CSU, Chico does not have the revenue-generating capability to finance such a project. Greg Francis, along with others, will be taking the study to the chancellor's office in the near future. On-Campus Driving Regulations - Glennda Morse Glennda reworked the draft of “Rules and Regulations governing the use of vehicles at CSU, Chico” to include the vehicle code violations and operation of vehicles on campus. Deborah will e-mail the document to all committee members so those who were not present are sure to have the opportunity to read it and to discuss further if needed. This document was developed to help department managers have a tool for holding employees accountable for their driving actions on campus. This is also a great tool for new employees to learn what is expected of them if driving on campus is part of their job. The document also addressed vehicles driven on campus needing to be clearly identified. It was discussed that any safety issues should be directed to the police department for immediate response. After handling such calls, the police department will then forward any information to the proper department head when employees' violating rules and regulations has occurred. A document for employees to sign was also shared; this will ultimately be used as a reference if disciplinary action is ever needed. Parking Structure/B Lot/Bike Racks at Holt - Frankie Hockstaff Frankie reported she met with Glennda and others regarding the above issues discussed at the last meeting. The following was proposed for the parking structure:
The following was proposed for the B Lot:
The following was proposed for bicycle racks south of Holt Hall:
The committee supports all of the above. Leslie to communicate recommendations to Dennis Graham and inform Glennda after he has been consulted. Other Business: Advisory Referendum - Barbara Kopicki Barbara advised the students passed a referendum (by a great margin) which supports the campus not selling parking permits to students who live within a one-mile radius of campus. She requested we put this on the next agenda for discussion. Dick Chamberlain agreed, having made several notes to share with the committee. Barbara will get exact wording of referendum to Deborah for inclusion in e-mail to committee members as well as on the next committee meeting agenda. Next Meeting: May 14, 2004 - 2:00 pm - Kendall 209 |
