Parking Information

We welcome our visitors to CSU Chico !
University Police would like to prevent you from receiving a parking violation, so please refer to the parking information provided on the following pages. Parking is very limited and on certain days it may take additional time to find available parking. Allow yourself adequate time to locate a parking space.

ALL MOTOR VEHICLES PARKING ON CAMPUS
MUST DISPLAY A VALID CSU PARKING PERMIT

Pursuant to Title 5, Article 7, Section 42201(a) of the California Code of Regulations, the University President may grant permission to park on campus, "to those persons who have paid a parking fee." This includes students, staff, faculty, and university visitors who are attending special events, such as cultural shows, musical / theatrical performances, sporting events, conferences, and other events not classified as "Official State Business."

Campus parking facilities are not supported by taxpayer dollars, but are self-supporting. They are paid for by the users of the facilities through payment of parking fees.

Note: The State of California, California State University, Chico (and its employees) shall not be held responsible or liable for any damage by loss or theft, fire, accident, or any other cause whatsoever to any vehicle, or contents thereof, that occurs on University property.

Alternative Transportation:
Due to limited parking availability, you may wish to make use of an alternative means of transportation. Your Wildcat identification card will allow you to ride the Butte County Transit bus or the Chico Area Transit System (CATS) bus at no charge.  You may also wish to check the Associated Students bulletin board, located in the BMU Lobby, for ride share information.

You can find out more by checking out the latest information on what the campus Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) Department is doing to support alternatives to commuting in your car.
