Loading and Unloading Rules

Access to the campus core for loading and unloading may be allowed during the following times:

  • Monday through Thursday: 6:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. and after 2:10 p.m.
  • Weekends: case by case basis, call the CSU, Chico Police Department at (530) 898-5555 for more information.

Vehicles without pre-authorization to access gated areas during these times must contact the CSU, Chico Police Department at (530-898-5555) for clearance. Access is not guaranteed.

For the safety and security of campus property and the community at large, vehicles found to be in violation of these parking restrictions are subject to a parking citation, revocation of loading and unloading privileges, towing, and/or other action as deemed necessary by the CSU, Chico Police Department.

Vehicles loading or unloading in other campus areas, not deemed the campus core, may do so with prior approval from the CSU, Chico Police Department. 

Inner Campus Traveling and Parking Restrictions

  • Vehicles shall not travel at speeds greater than 5 mph.
  • Vehicles shall be kept in good working order, so as not to leak hazardous materials such as, gasoline, oil, diesel, or anti-freeze on inner campus roadways, walkways, or sidewalks.
  • Vehicles shall not park on any unpaved areas such as grass, planted areas, or dirt areas.
  • Vehicles shall not park in stalls, or any portion thereof, marked for specific purposes, without permission from the CSU, Chico Police Department (state vehicle stalls, handicapped stalls, Facility Management stalls, etc).
  • Vehicles shall not park in such a manner as to block, obstruct, impede, or delay any emergency vehicle.
  • Vehicles shall not block or obstruct any doorway, driveway, or portion thereof.
