In a field trip that highlights the colorful heritage of Native Americans, this performance will celebrate Native American Heritage Month with music, dance and storytelling. Three performers (all winners of Native American Music Awards the Nammys) will delight and entrance the audience with singing, flute, hoop dancing, and storytelling. Join Joanne Shenandoah (singer and songwriter), R. Carlos Nakai (flutist) and the Yellow Bird Dancers in this entertaining field trip.
Joanne Shenandoah is considered one of today's most revered Native American singers and songwriters, winning more Nammies than any other artist. R. Carlos Nakai is the world's premier Native American flutist and a six-time Grammy nominee. The Yellow Bird Dancers are known for their storytelling and hoop dancing, portraying various forms of life including the Eagle, Rattlesnake, Butterfly and others using many colored hoops
