Lois Adams spent a lifetime introducing children to the arts. In collaboration with her husband, Harlen Adams, she was instrumental in bringing wonderful arts performers directly to our children. Please help the children of our community enjoy live performances with a donation to the Lois C. Adams Adopt-A-Class program.
Your Business & Our Children
Linking businesses, classrooms, children, and the arts is the goal of Chico Performances' Adopt-A-Class program. The Adopt-A-Class program allows classes to attend field trips at no cost to the students.
Businesses and individuals can sponsor a school, teacher, or classroom of their choice. For a donation of $200 (or more)*, one class may attend one field trip. For a donation of $400 (or more)*, one class may attend two field trips, or two classes may attend one field trip.
The Adopt-A-Class program is in its 15th year with a schedule of 21 live performances for the 2012–2013 season. The program is now accepting donations from businesses and individuals to sponsor classrooms to attend one or more of these live events.
The Adopt-A-Class program was developed as an opportunity for businesses and organizations to help underwrite children's exposure to the arts. Business or personal donations enable classes to attend field trips at no cost to the students, teachers, or the district! For the 2012–2013 season, the program has received major funding from US Bank.
Chico Performances started the Adopt-A-Class program with a grant from the City of Chico and its Arts Commission in 1997. More than 66 classrooms participated in the 2011–2012 Adopt-A-Class project, with 25 businesses and individuals adopting classrooms.
