"She's the best singer of her generation." Tony Bennett
It seems inevitable that k.d. lang a Patsy Cline devotee would record Sing It Loud, a Nashville produced blend of tasteful country pluck and twang. Lang's fall tour highlights this new album, and teamed up with The Siss Boom Bang, lang ruminates on romantic regret in the Roy Orbison-esque "I Confess," hits some vocal highs in "Sugar Buzz," and makes Talking Heads' "Heaven" sound even more, well, heavenly.
From the very beginning, k.d. lang's voice has commanded attention. Whether belting out Patsy Cline-inspired twang (Shadowland) or mining Tin Pan Alley for gold (A Wonderful World with Tony Bennett), lang has displayed her versatility, infectious spirit, and rare talent song after beautiful song. Bennett may, in fact, be her biggest fan; he declared to the press what so many fans have come to believe over the last two and a half decades: "She's the best singer of her generation."
Opening for k.d. lang and The Siss Boom Bang will be Teddy Thompson.
