"Poundstone has never been funnier . . ." The Boston Globe
Appearing on stage with a stool, a microphone and a can of Diet Pepsi, Paula Poundstone is famous for her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity. A mainstay on NPR’s quirky weekly news program Wait, Wait . . . Don't Tell Me, Poundstone is a master of improvisation and audience interaction, so much so that audience members at her live shows often think the random people she responds to are "plants" (they’re not!).
Aside from being a comedian, author, and mother of three, Poundstone also lends her name, voice and humor as the national spokesperson for the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations. As Poundstone says, "If you haven't been to the library lately, you're overdue," which is why she's teaming up with the Chico Friends of the Library to sell copies of her book There's Nothing in This Book That I Meant to Say in the lobby of Laxson Auditorium before and after her show. Poundstone will sign copies of her book, and a percentage of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to the Chico Friends of the Library.
