Off-campus ISP Outgoing Mail Servers

Many outside Internet Service Providers (ISP's) recently started blocking the port that allows users to connect to the CSU, Chico outgoing mail server. If you are using a standalone e-mail client such as Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Mac Mail, or others, and have it configured to check your campus mail, you may not be able to send e-mail. If you are unable to send e-mail, you will need to either log into your Wildcat Mail or Outlook/Exchange mail via the web, or configure your mail client to use your ISP's outgoing mail server.

Note: Some of these mail servers may require authentication. In your mail client settings, you may need to enter the user name and password you were supplied by your Internet Service Provider.

If you are unsure how to change these settings, click here for instructions.
