Spam Assassin Documentation for Entourage
The new mail exchanger checks for SPAM and assigns one of two values to each message in the header:
spam: spam
spam: not spam
You can create an inbox filter to catch messages marked as SPAM. To do this, follow the documentation below.
**NOTE - This rule will only work when Entourage is open. A better solution is to set up a rule on the Exchange server. To do this from a Macintosh, you'll need to call us at x6000 and have us create the rule for you.
* If you do not already have a Junk E-mail folder created in Outlook, follow these instructions: Go to Outlook Web Access and log in using your Outlook user name and password. Once you log in, A new folder will appear in your folder list titled "Junk E-mail". If you need instructions for logging into Outlook Web Access, go here. Close Outlook Web Access when you are done.
Step 1: Open Entourage and go to the “Tools” menu and select “Rules.”
Step 2: Highlight “IMAP” and click on “New”

Step 3: Make the Rule Name Spam Assassin. Make sure where it says Execute it has if all criteria are met selected. Make sure Any header and Contains are selected then type in “SpamCheck: spam” (minus the quotes) in the blank following Contains. Make sure under Then Change status is selected and then select Junk E-mail. On the following line select Move message and then select Junk E-mail (yourname-exchange). Double check that your rule looks like the one below and then click “OK” to set the rule.
