2008 Campus Computer Refresh (CCR)
The Campus Computer Refresh is designed to provide new computers to faculty and staff in an effort to foster a reasonable replacement cycle. The Provost recognizes this need as a critical component within the overall technology development effort for the university.
Each Academic year, Academic Affairs allocates funds toward the procurement and delivery of new computers to existing faculty and staff (provided funding is available). The funds are allocated according to each of the colleges and Areas under VPAA according to faculty and staff FTE counts. The areas then determine final distribution of the computers to faculty and staff, with the goal of replacing substandard desktop computers.
The Campus Computer Refresh for 08 (CCR) is in the beginning stages of deployment. All new machines have been specified and a vendor quote from Dell has been accepted.
Our goal is to begin installs during January, and ultimately complete the majority of faculty installs by May 08. This goal will be achieved only through availability of faculty and staff during the installation period. Please be sure that your areas are as flexible as is possible with their meeting times so that we can deploy as many machines as is possible by the late May timeframe.
Final allocations by college/area are listed below. These allocations are based on the same formula used in previous years.
Please fill out your plan spreadsheet as soon as is possible so that we may proceed on installs. We will install on a first come, first served basis.
If there are any questions on the process, please contact Mark Lewkowicz (X6000).
