Recommended Minimum Specifications

The following specifications are User Services recommended minimum specifications for new computing purchases. User Services supports Dell and Apple systems. Visit our Support Guidelines page should you need further information on what we support, and how our chargebacks might apply to your area.

Note: ALL computers must be purchased with a 3 year warranty.

Failure to purchase a 3 year warranty might increase repair costs significantly for your department. All computing equipment out of warranty will incur costs for replacement parts.

User Services will provide service due to malfunction during warranty period. User Services ships the majority of monitors to manufacturer for repair because of potential hazardous materials issues.

We recommend any current model laser printer available from Dell or HP.

User Services provides troubleshooting and repair services for these models of HP and Dell Laser Printers.

Non-Charged Department: No charge for service or repair due to malfunction during warranty period. Time and materials charges apply after warranty expiration. Toner, fuser, other consumable parts are chargeable items.

Ink Jet Printers

USRV Support Notes

We recommend current models of HP Ink Jet printers. Call for more information 898-6000

Support for HP Ink Jet printers is limited to general software installation and initial problem consultation (check for cartridge, paper feed issues, etc.).

User Services will not provide component level repair for Ink Jet printers given their nominal replacement cost.

Non-Charged Department: No charge for installation and basic troubleshooting requests.

Charged Department: Time and materials charges for installation and basic troubleshooting requests.
